It’s the freakin’ weekend! I hope everyone is looking forward to their long weekend. Enjoy the fourth installation of Things I’m Loving to kick off your holiday weekend!
I completed my second Spartan Race about two weeks ago and am officially hooked! What is a Spartan Race? It’s an obstacle course race that includes rope climbs, sandbag carries, monkey bars, etc. Traditionally they’re completed on muddy courses anywhere from 3-14 miles. I actually competed in the Spartan Stadium series, which means no mud but tons of stairs. Look out for a full race recap coming your way, but if you’re looking for a way to spice up your runs or race training, Spartan Races are for you.
I am obsessed with planners. I’ve tried them all. Nothing compares to the Passion Planner. It combines a weekly calendar, a goal setting guide, journal, and work & personal to-do lists into one SUPER planner. It helps keep me motivated, inspired, and focused. If you’re a student or an entrepreneur or simply a busy individual, I urge you to check it out! Plus, the founder and CEO, Angelia Trinidad, is a young, female entrepreneur who started the company out of her garage…pretty bad ass.
While it’s basically been “summer” in LA since mid-January, it’s finally warming up around the rest of the country. And that means flip flop season. Growing up in SoCal, I like to consider myself a sandal connoisseur. My all time favorites—Sanuk Yoga Mat Sandals. Yes, they’re actually made out of yoga mats. They’re also wicked comfy, durable (I’ve had mine for years), and cushioned. I will never go back to regular flip flops again. (And you won’t either.)
Red Nose Day
If you haven’t heard of this, you might live under a rock. According to the Red Nose Day website, it is “a campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty by simply having fun and making people laugh.” Red Nose Day was the UK’s #1 TV fundraising event. AND the first ever U.S. Red Nose Day was yesterday, May 21! NBC aired a live 3-hour special filled with tons of stars and some hilarious segments. If you missed it, you can check out some featured video here and can donate to a great cause here.
