Binge-Eater, Low-Calorie Granola

Granola is an extremely nutrient dense food.  It’s also extremely calorie dense.  I’m granola-obsessed and don’t necessarily like to limit my portions when it comes to this tasty treat.  That’s why I created my Binge-Eater, Low Calorie Granola.  It’s a wonderful low-calorie granola option for all of you granola connoisseurs out there.   I cut out many common high-calorie ingredients (like nuts, peanut butter, and coconut) and added volume by supplementing with low-calorie rice cereal.  This recipe allows you to enjoy a bowl of granola without the guilt!  (Serving Size: ½ cup, Calories: 200)


  • 2 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal (I used Rice Krispies)
  • 1 1/2 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips
  • 3 tbs brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup agave
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil


  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit
  • In a large bowl, combine crispy rice cereal, oats, brown sugar, agave, and vegetable oil
  • Spray a baking sheet with a non-stick cooking spray
  • Spread mixture evenly on baking sheet
  • Bake in preheated oven for 75 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes
  • Cool, then stir in raisins and chocolate chips
  • Store in an airtight container
